UPM delegation, led by Professor Dr. Ismi Arif Ismail, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic and International), visited the Xiamen University History Museum in China.

 

China, April 28, 2024 - The UPM delegation, led by Prof. Dr. Ismi Arif Ismail, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic and International), visited the Tan Kah Kee Innovation Laboratory at Xiamen University, China, accompanied by the Dean of the School of Business and Economics, UPM (SPE UPM), Prof. Dr. Bany Ariffin Amin Noordin, and the Deputy Dean (Postgraduate), Assoc. Prof. Ts. Dr. Anuar Shah Bali Mahomed.

Meanwhile, from Xiamen University, China, the delegation was led by Prof. Dr. Lin Fan (Rector, Pingtan Institute of Xiamen University) along with Prof. Dr. Zhang Mingzhi (Vice Rector), Prof. Dr. Dong Lunhai (Vice Rector), Prof. Dr. Lin Fangfang (Director of Education Service), and Dr. Chen Yongming (Director of Industry).

The visit was also attended by Prof. Dr. Wu Kejian (Minister, Secretary of Education, Hong Kong Government), Prof. Dr. Wong Wing Keung (Chairman of the UNESCO SDG Charity Evaluation Committee, Hong Kong), Prof. Dr. Lu Lu (Cultural Counselor, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Chinese Government), Prof. Dr. Sun Yue (Chairman of the Association, Hong Kong Continuing Education Association), and Prof. Dr. Chen Chufeng (President, Hong Kong Talent International Education Limited).

During this visit, the history and chronology of Xiamen University, China, from its establishment to the present day, were explained to the delegation by the museum staff.

Discussions also centered around potential collaborations between UPM and Xiamen University, China, in the field of literature and language through staff and student exchanges to conduct research, including in literary studies, history and language.

Ultimately, this collaboration will help enhance the reputation and impact of both institutions in the international arena and create new opportunities for the development of knowledge and sustainable cooperation in the future.
