1st AACSB-ACCREDITED UNIVERSITY IN MALAYSIA 
(ASSOCIATION TO ADVANCE COLLEGIATE SCHOOLS OF BUSINESS)

Faculty of Economics and Management (FEP), UPM managed to achieve accreditation in business programme from AACSB. UPM is the 1st university in Malaysia and 6th in South East Asia to achieve this.

SME @ UPM PROGRAMME

Faculty of Economics and Management, UPM and SME Corp. Malaysia is conducting SME @ UPM PROGRAMME which provides a structured learning opportunity to the CEO’s of Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs).

The Programme is designed to help develop capable human capital that will drive diverse management innovation and creativity in developing the business acumen of new and existing entrepreneurs. The Programme is based on the SME University of Japan’s hands-on approach, model for participant to learn on what it takes to become a world-class CEO.

L’OREAL BRANDSTORM COMPETITION

L’Oreal Brandstorm is a creative and interactive marketing competition for undergraduate students throughout the world in their final two years of university. This unique marketing competition had been organized for the 10th year in Malaysia and 21st year globally. It provides students the opportunity to take on the role as marketing brand managers to launch or revamp a product line of an existing L’Oréal brand, develop a long-term international marketing including packaging and communications campaign.

The National Finals was held on the 9th of May, 2013 at the One World Hotel, Bandar Utama. There were five finalists that made it to the finals. Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) was represented by Team Why Not and Excellic. Two teams from Monash University and a team from Universiti Malaya

The team from Universiti Putra Malaya comprising Chew Farn Jie, Lee Xiao Tong and Khaw Zhi Sheng was the first runner-up. They won a travel voucher worth RM3,500 and L’Oréal products worth RM400. Team Why Not won consolation trophy and some L’Oréal products.

FEP is also proud to have One Finalist (Lee Xiao Tong) being recruited by Loreal Malaysia as Management Trainees. The competition indeed presents the students with greater job opportunities.

1. When was FEP established?

The Faculty of Economics and Management (FEP) (erstwhile The Faculty of Resource
Economics and Agribusiness) was first established in January 1974, as the
fourth faculty in Universiti Putra Malaysia (erstwhile Universiti Pertanian
Malaysia). It was established in response to the needs for competent
professionals in the fields of Agribusiness and Resource Economics.

VISION

To be a leading business school in Malaysia fulfilling global expectations.

MISSION

• To produce business graduates who meet the needs of the business community and to develop innovative and socially responsible leaders who are capable of dealing
with changes in the global environment.

3. What are the fields of experties of the Faculty of Economics and Management?

Faculty of Economics and Management is the centre of education, research and professional services in the field of Economics, Hospitality, Recreation and Tourism, Management and Marketing, and Accounting and Finance.


4. What are the undergradute programs offered at FEP?
There are 3 programs offered for the undergraduate level which are Bachelor of Accounting, Bachelor of Business Administration and Bachelor of Economics.


5. What are the gradute programs offered at FEP?
There are 3 programs offered for the graduate level which are Master of Economics, Master of Science, Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D).


6. What are the opportunities offered to the executive to further their studies in FEP?
FEP's Executive Program Unit offers 4 programs for them which to be Bachelor of Accounting, Bachelor of Economics, Bachelor of Business Administration(Weekdays & Weekend).
